Registration for the Kennebunk Free Library 28th Edition 5K is open. The event is scheduled for Friday, July 11.

Preregistration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9. Same-day registration begins at 4 p.m. on race day, July 11. Same-day registration costs are $45 for adults; $30 for children.
The USATF-certified course begins and ends in the library parking lot, winding through local neighborhoods and the Hope Cemetery and Woods trails.
Following the race, there is a party on the library lawn, with live music, food, and a beer tent.
Prizes will go to the top male and female finisher in each of nine age categories.
Though the race does not offer a separate virtual race registration, those unable to join participate in person are encouraged to run their own course and send photos to the library.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
