SCARBOROUGH – Donald F. Morse, Jr., son of Donald F. Morse, Sr. and Virginia Silva, born on Dec. 27, 1936, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Don was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn (Lapierre) Morse, who passed on Jan. 24, 2007. Married on Sept. 12, 1960, they shared a lifetime of adventures together. Don carried her memory everywhere—quite literally—by tattooing her name on his ankle.
He was a loving father to his four sons and their families: Donald F. III and Angela, Roger P. and Linda, Timothy M. and Lora, and Dallas L. and Bethany. He also remained very close with Wendy Morse Baldwin and Ted Baldwin and Lisa Morse and Scott Berry.
Don was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing, hunting, and trapping. He also had a deep love for old westerns and baseball. His adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively with Carolyn, creating cherished memories along the way.
Proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1960, Don carried a deep sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life.
He is survived by his siblings, Ginnie Jordan, Philip Morse, and Wayne Morse. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Donald F. IV, Brittany and Brett Saucier, Roger and Tracy Morse, Danielle and Ian Geib, Michael Kendrick, Ryan Morse, Taylor Morse, Kingston Morse, and Nathan Morse. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Kelsi and Alexis Saucier, Jack and Owen Geib, and Luke and Penelope Morse.
Don will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A private burial will be held with his four sons.
In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to his home for the last few years, Southridge Rehabilitation, or last few days, Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
In both facilities, he received exceptional care and love from all staff.
