Janice M. (York) Murphy
WINDHAM – Janice M. (York) Murphy, 78, passed away on March 15, 2025 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice surrounded by family.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1947 and raised in South Portland to Hartwell and Irene York.
Blessed with a great smile, laugh, and personality, having a strong work ethic, she had a successful career in radio advertising and marketing at various stations and businesses throughout greater Portland, finally retiring in 2009 as station manager of WBCI Christian Radio in Topsham.
She is survived by her husband Rick, of 35 years; brothers Bill and Steve; sons George, Jeff and Marty, stepdaughters Jennifer, Nicole and Laura; along with many grandchildren; nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents; her niece, Teri; and grandson, Coleman.
Jan will be sorely missed by family and friends.
A celebration of life and private burial will be held at a later date.
