Dorothy was born June 9, 1933, in Portland, the daughter of Arthur and Edith (Cooper) Jordan. Dottie graduated from Portland High in 1951 and in 1953 married Arthur J. Odlin, a fisherman from South Portland. Together they raised eight children in a small, noisy house near Willard Beach, which became a favorite place to walk.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, by her beloved daughter Jeanine, and by her siblings, Marie, Arthur, Thomas, Frederick, Richard, and infant brothers Alan and Robert.
Surviving are her daughters, Karine and her partner Tim Aho, Cynthia and her husband John Fasulo; sons, James and his wife Terri, Gregory and his wife Elena, Gary, Christopher and his wife Amanda, Robert and his wife Maria; son-in-law James White; and sisters-in-law, Ellen Jordan, Gail Dufour and Cindy Odlin. Dottie had many dear friends from her days growing up on Munjoy Hill, especially Kathleen, Jeanne, and Betty.
Dorothy also leaves 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, who each have special memories of their Grammy and GiGi.
Dorothy was a communicant of Holy Cross Church for over 60 years and embodied the virtues of her deeply held Catholic faith. She was generous, kind, compassionate, and non-judgmental. Dottie was also a lot of fun, quick to laugh and joke, and curious about the world. The adored matriarch of a large, happy family, Dorothy will be deeply missed.
