Four people were injured in a head-on crash in Clifton on Saturday night, and a teenager faces multiple charges related to the incident.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash on Airline Road around 8 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release.
According to the sheriff’s office, Kyle Gray, 19, of Harborside, was driving a Ford pickup truck and crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with an SUV.
The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries. Authorities extracted her from her vehicle and transported her to a hospital by helicopter.
Three passengers in the truck were also taken to the hospital. A 17-year-old passenger sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said; the other two had minor injuries.
Gray, the driver of the pickup truck, was charged with operating under the influence, aggravated driving and operating without a license beyond restrictions. He was also transported to the hospital before being taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he remains in custody.
The crash is still under investigation, the release said.
