Kevin Hart’s letter in the Feb. 20 Press Herald, “Musk’s group is not acronym-worthy,” missed the larger truth.
The acronym DOGE, for Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency, does give the impression that it is a real government department. But what is misleading is not the acronym, it is the name of the so-called department. Instead, I suggest we start calling it what it is: the Fake Office of Government Efficiency, or FOGE. Words matter.
