Maine State Police have canceled a silver alert for a 64-year-old Portland man who went missing on Thursday evening.

The man, who suffers from cognitive issues, left the Portland Center Center for Assisted Living on Devonshire Street on foot around 5:30 p.m.

Portland police said he was located safely Friday morning.
