John Frederick Houle
SCARBOROUGH – John Frederick Houle, 63, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
He was the son of the late Dr. M. Paul Houle and Lois M. (Jackson) Houle. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Rice and her husband Robert; his brothers Steven and his wife Debra, David and his wife Olivia, Matthew and his wife Lisa, Thomas and his wife Judith, and Jeffrey. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Deborah Houle and Gail Houle; and 12 nieces and nephews. His brothers, Philip and James, predeceased him.
John enjoyed visiting the ocean, listening to music, and going out to eat. He liked going out for ice cream and trips to Dunkin’ for coffee and donuts. He loved parties and presents! John was a true example of living a life of grace and resilience under extraordinary circumstances. He will be missed by his family and by his friends at Creative Works, who provided John with loving care for over 20 years.
A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, from 10 – 11 a.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with burial immediately following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
