Dennis LaPointe
Dennis Leonard LaPointe, 75, of Kennebunk, passed away on Oct. 29, 2024, from complications of pancreatic cancer. He is predeceased by his father Donald LaPointe. He is survived by his mother Marliyn Fernald LaPointe of Eliot, his wife Kimberly Rogers LaPointe of Kennebunk, his son Nathan LaPointe of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, his sister Deborah LaPointe and her husband Michael Mark of Eliot.

Dennis grew up in Eliot before graduating from Marshwood High School in 1968. He later attended the University of Miami. Following his education, he began his career at the Social Security Administration, where he served the public for 25 years. He later worked for the RSU 21 transportation department as a school bus driver for 11 years, an experience that enriched his life.
He enjoyed hobbies like boating, photography, and reading. He also cherished time spent with family, especially his son Nathan, who was his pride and joy. Growing up, Dennis greatly enjoyed snow skiing and water skiing. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and smile, the joy he brought to his loved ones, and for his determination and perseverance in the face of sickness. He was happiest spending time at the beach or at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, where he made many cherished memories on family vacations.
The LaPointe family would like to thank the staff of New England Cancer Specialists in Kennebunk for their care and kindness throughout Dennis’s treatment.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
