Christina Mitchell has devoted 30-plus years teaching English and social studies in Wiscasset, at Portland High, USM and Taiwan. She is a Cumberland resident, school board member (MSAD 51) and volunteer for the Cumberland Historical Society and the Cumberland 200th Anniversary Committee. She married a Mainer, whose paternal grandmother, Elsie Cushing, was born and raised on Long Island.
Originally from the Midwest, Christina discovered paternal ties to Francis Wyman Jr., an early Long Island landowner and old North Yarmouth selectman. Christina Mitchell is a strong advocate for financing senior care at home, reproductive rights, mental health, urgent climate change remediation, fair taxes, small businesses, affordable housing, and protection from gun violence, book banners and school de-funders.
