

Hires, promotions, appointments
Brian Franks was named president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Maine. His most recent position was director of strategic planning and process at L.L. Bean. Franks is on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine and is the corporate campaign co-chair at L.L. Bean for United Way of Southern Maine.
Brooke Baerman was hired as development manager at Mechanics’ Hall in Portland. She was previously deputy director of major gifts and campaign development at Ogunquit Playhouse.


Sarah Rodgers was appointed chief operating officer at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution. Previously she held leadership roles at Unum, TD Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, West Monroe and Affirm.
Michelle Haslinger, a board-certified breast surgical oncologist with expertise in oncoplastic surgery, joined Northern Light Mercy Hospital.
Giving back
Norway Savings Bank donated $5,000 to the Institute for Family-Owned Business. The bank has donated nearly $40,000 to the institute since 2014.
