Linda Marilyn Marie Cyr

SANFORD – Linda Marilyn Marie Cyr, 70, of Sanford, and formerly of Saco, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at Summer Commons in Sanford.

She was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick on May 11, 1954, a daughter of Leo Paul Cyr, Sr. and Alice (Pelletier) Cyr. At the age of three her family relocated to Maine where she attended St. Andre’s Catholic School in Biddeford, and later graduated from Biddeford High School, class of 1972.

Linda’s career began at Biddeford Textile where she worked for 18 years, until the mill was closed. She then transitioned to National Semiconductor and remained with them until her retirement. While Linda was with National Semiconductor she also worked a second job at The Christmas Tree Shop, a job she thoroughly enjoyed where she made many lasting friendships.

Linda had a great love for cats, and through the years raised many that were dear to her heart. She enjoyed car rides to the beach, listening to music, reading, and doing puzzles. She also had quite a sweet tooth, with chocolate, ice cream and fried dough high on the top of her list.

Linda cherished the time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews whom she loved deeply. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and was one of the favorite residents at Summer Commons nursing center. She will be sadly missed by many.

She was predeceased by her parents, Leo Paul Cyr, Sr. and Alice Cyr, and by her brother Leo Paul Cyr Jr.

She is survived by two brothers, Donald Cyr and wife Lottie, and David Cyr and wife Lisa; by three sisters, Jacqueline Cote and husband Renald, Geraldine Arbour and husband Michael, and Rosemarie Roberge and husband Michael; by sister-in-law Ann Cyr; as well as by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Saco. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Biddeford. To view Linda’s memorial page or leave an online condolence, please visit http://www.cotefuneralhome.com.
