Terry W. Moulton, 76 years, a resident of Cape Porpoise, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2024, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness.

Terry was born March 28, 1948, in Lewiston, Maine, a son of William and Marguerite (Emmons) Moulton and graduated from Lisbon High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, where he offered his devoted service to his country for the next 20 years, including a deployment in Vietnam. After his discharge. Terry spent four years earning a bachelor’s degree from Salem State University, where he graduated with honors. He then returned to the USAF, working as a contract officer for another seven years, before discovering the love of his life, Jeanne Howarth.

Terry was grounded in nature and loved the outdoors. He shared the skills he learned there by becoming a camp counselor at Camp Mechuwana, a Methodist Camp in Winthrop, Maine, where he taught the campers archery and canoeing, and supervised many other activities for a number of years. He was a Maine State Camp Trip Leader and Safety Instructor, very involved in the Junior Maine Guide Program and was an American Camp Association Visitor. He enjoyed working at restoring his dad’s Jeep, traveling, canoeing, watching sunsets and walking with his personally made walking stick. Terry had a deep and abiding faith in his Creator and was proud to be a member of the Church on the Cape choir in Cape Porpoise, where he also wound the church clock for several years, and later, was responsible for lowering the flag to half-staff when necessary.

Terry is survived by: his soul mate, Jeanne Howarth of Kennebunkport; sons, Jeffrey Moulton of Winter Harbor, Maine, Scott Moulton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a daughter, Heidi Moulton of Houlton, Maine; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his beloved cats, Kitt and Molly Mae.

Terry Moulton’s Memorial Service will be held at the Church on the Cape in Cape Porpoise on Saturday, Oct. 26 at noon.
