Mayo Street Arts presents “rOng: a cOmmunity circus shOw” by circus artist Janoah Bailin at 5 p.m. Friday.

The performance takes place on the basketball courts in Portland’s Kennedy Park.

Music for the hourlong show will be provided by keyboardist and beatmaker Kafari.

Bailin’s performance focuses on looking at and connecting rings, including juggling rings, hula hoops, jewelry, circus rings and beyond. “rOng” is meant to elicit laughs and contemplation through stories, circus movements and audience interactions.

Bailin has been performing and teaching juggling and unicycling across the U.S. and Canada since childhood and their current role is artistic director for The Gym Dandies Children’s Circus of Scarborough. Bailin is also the founding member of the Maine Youth Circus.

The performance is free with a $15 suggested donation. For more information, go to mayostreetarts.org.
