Trump poses a religious dilemma for Christians. Consider Matthew 7:20: “…by their fruits ye shall know them.” Trump is anti-abortion, a major deal, and he courts evangelicals. But he rarely attends church, and he’s said he doesn’t ask God to forgive his sins. He never admits to being wrong.
We’ve seen him mocking people with disabilities and disrespecting soldiers who were killed in wars. He has been convicted of tax fraud and found liable for sexually abuse. He asked oil industry executives for a billion dollars in return for reversing laws that protect God’s creation from climate change. He tells working people, “I am your voice,” but his big tax break went mostly to the super-rich. And of course, the insurrection.
Christian or not, a president’s values will affect hundreds of crucial decisions. To know how he’d govern, consider all of his actions.
