I write to express my wholehearted support for the offshore wind turbine proposal for Maine. Our state has always been known for its beautiful landscapes, from the rugged coastline to the lush forests, and our strong sense of community where neighbors look out for each other. Embracing renewable energy, like offshore wind, will help us preserve these cherished qualities for future generations.

For my kids’ sake, I want to see Maine take proactive steps toward combating climate change and ensuring cleaner air, so they can grow up enjoying the natural beauty we sometimes take for granted. My husband served our country with dedication and sacrifice, missing about half of our 5-year-old’s life due to deployments and training exercises. Now that he’s back home, it’s our turn, as a family, to contribute in other meaningful ways.

Supporting renewable energy projects like this one is not just about environmental responsibility; it’s also about enhancing national security by reducing our dependence on foreign oil. By investing in clean energy right here at home, we’re making a commitment to a more sustainable and self-sufficient future for everyone in Maine and beyond.

This project promises job opportunities that can boost our local economy. As someone who values diversity and inclusion, I’m excited about the potential for this initiative to bring together people from different backgrounds to work toward a common goal. Let’s harness the power of wind not just as an energy source but as a symbol of progress and unity for all Mainers.
