After he exhorts the crowd with toxic misinformation about the “illegal (?) others,” it is with amazement that I watch the followers of Donald Trump at his rallies yell “Send them back!” Are these followers going to take the places of these millions of workers doing the important work of tilling the soil, planting the seeds, gathering the harvest in 100-degree heat, working in meat packing plants, poultry plants, fishing in cold waters?
If we think food prices are high now, what will the cost be if he achieves his goal? And, that’s if products are even available at all. We must be careful what we wish for.
