A recent letter to the editor (“Where rift becomes grift,” Sept. 22) “wondered” whether Mr. Trump himself may have been behind the latest purported assassination attempt, as a means of soliciting funds from his supporters.
Is our society not already drowning in conspiracy theories? I’m no fan of Mr. Trump, but given what we have learned of Ryan Routh, the man charged with the attempt, application of Occam’s razor would lead us to conclude that this was the act of a deranged individual – plain and simple.
Enough with the conspiracy theories!
