On Nov. 5, I’m voting to return Anne Carney to the Maine Senate.
I know Carney to be an incredible listener who invites differing perspectives on issues. These qualities have resulted in her leadership to enact environmental protections, gun law reform, workplace safeguards and the promotion of social justice. Most of this legislation has passed with bipartisan support and, yes, some compromise. There’s still much more work to be done.
It’s not just about lawmaking. I know from personal experience that Carney is a valuable resource who helps her constituents navigate the bureaucracy in Augusta and get needed answers.
Please vote on Nov. 5, and when you do, please vote for Anne Carney as your state senator.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
