Scarborough’s First Congregational Church is sponsoring a workshop on retirement and estate planning, offered by local educators. The presentations will explain financial options and industry updates on wills versus trusts; estate planning; Medicare; Social Security; nursing homes versus assisted living facilities; and funerals with advance planning. This event is open to the public and will be held at the church’s Parish Hall at 167 Black Point Road, Scarborough, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 1:30 p.m. Reservations are encouraged, but not required.
