The Maine Lit Fest is a statewide celebration of books, stories and community. It opens on Oct. 3 and runs through Oct. 13. On a historical literary note, here’s a look back at Raffles Café Bookstore. It was located on 555 Congress St. in Portland, the address that was later home to a renowned restaurant, and closed in 1996.
