Michael Robert Bachelder
AMES, Iowa – Michael Robert Bachelder, 73, of Ames, Iowa went to be with the Lord on Tuesday July 30, 2024.
Michael was born in Bath on Jan. 31, 1951. He grew up in Gorham and attended Gorham High School and also took classes at Andover College.
When he was younger, he loved swimming, dancing, roller skating and playing cribbage. Michael loved Maine and lived most of his life in Portland before moving to Iowa in 2018.
Michael is survived by his wife, Stephanie of Ames Iowa; his brother, Thomas Bachelder of Holly Springs, N.C., his sister, Carol Hill of Gorham; and his eight children, Michael Bachelder of Ozark, Ala., Stephen Burnham-Brayman of Greenbush, Hilary Granberg of New Sharon, Edward Bachelder, Janelle Brooks, Christopher Bachelder, Nathaniel Labrecque all from Sanford, and Victoria Fortnam of Bridgton. He has 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Michael was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ruth Bachelder; and his sister, Robyn Cuffey.
