Workshops on preserving Maine foods will be offered on Oct. 7 and Oct. 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fork Food Lab, 97 Darling Ave., South Portland.
“Preserving the Harvest” workshop topics include canning fruit jam, pepper jelly and apples. The workshops are offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, in partnership with Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association. Kate McCarty, a food systems professional at UMaine Extension, will lead the workshop; fresh produce and canning jars will be provided.
