STRIVE U, a two-year residential and educational post-secondary program for people ages 18-26 with intellectual disabilities, is holding an open house on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the organization’s Nye Street campus in Portland. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions, meet current staff and students, take a tour, and pick up an application.
STRIVE U is a comprehensive program based in South Portland aimed at teaching its students necessary skills to live independently in the community. It was founded to help students learn about communal living, employment, post-secondary educational options and transitioning from the program into the community at large.
