BRUNSWICK – Following a day of visits from her dearest friends, Catherine Donlin passed away after a courageous and challenging battle with cancer on the morning of Aug. 18, 2024, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her mother and sister by her side.
She was born on April 10, 1978, and was a cherished daughter, sister, friend and auntie to so many. Her caring nature, amazing smile, and adventurous spirit made a lasting impact, and her absence will leave a profound emptiness in all our hearts.
Catherine loved a beach day, camping, and just being outside, especially in the yard with a pair of loppers. She loved ’90s rap and R&B, Beyonce and any song with an a cappella break and/or hand claps. She recently started crafting and was forever making people laugh.
She graduated from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro in 1997 and after living and working in Key West, Fla. for many years, returned to Maine, where she graduated from the University of New England in 2008 with a degree in dental hygiene. Catherine worked for 11 years at The Art of Dentistry in Cumberland Foreside where she was loved by her colleagues and patients.
Catherine was predeceased by her father, Richard J. Donlin.
She is survived by her mother, Patricia Donlin; and sister, Sarah Donlin, both of Brunswick, her brother, Christopher Donlin, of Warren; her aunt, Beth Hyler, of Cushing; her great-aunt, Sister Judith Mulhall, of West Hartford, Conn.; and her many maternal and paternal cousins and their families.
Catherine’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick, on Friday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
Arrangements are in the care of the Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, where condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website http://www.stetsonsfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Maine Needs https://www.maineneeds.org in Catherine’s name.
