
Michael Kenneth Gardner, 66, of Old Orchard Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
He was born in Hollis on Aug. 4, 1957, a son of Kenneth Francis and Doris Jean
(Flynn) Gardner. He graduated from Bonny Eagle High School.
After high school, Mike was employed by Harbor Airlines for many years. Changing industries he went to Maine Medical Center in security for several years. He married his wife, Sonia Gardner, on Dec. 24, 1992. For the last 15 years, Mike was security supervisor for General Dynamics in Saco, retiring in 2009.
Mike was an avid sports fan and always willing to try his luck with a lottery ticket.
Most all of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. The family has created many special memories that they will hold on to and cherish forever. He will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by: his wife of 32 years, Sonia Simpson Gardner; and children; Robert Tracy and Nicole Tracy and husband Ryan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Donald Lashome, Brianna Degen, Ryan Kraus Tracy, Lexis Tracy and Logan Tracy; and five great-grandchildren, Deila, Gavin, Lucas, Violette and Chloe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024 at the family home in Old Orchard Beach. Arrangements are by Cote Funeral Home, Saco.
