The Brick Store Museum will host Backyards & Barns, an event that is, according to a news release, “a walk through time on Kennebunk’s historic Summer Street.”

The Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk will host Backyards & Barns on Friday, July 26. Tickets should be purchased in advance and are on sale at www.brickstoremuseum.org/calendar or at the Brick Store Museum at 117 Main St. Contributed

The event, scheduled from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, July 26, will feature the landscapes and barns of four historic homes in Kennebunk’s historic district. Tickets are $50 ($45 for Brick Store members, $25 for children) and benefit the Brick Store Museum’s educational mission.

Ticketholders will pick up a map at the Brick Store Museum to find the four sites within a half-mile of the museum, including the George Lord Little House (1875) and the William Lord Thompson House (1854).

Walking (or driving) to each stop, guests will encounter stories about the history of each home and its outdoor landscape; activities like paper boat racing, croquet, architectural history tours, and line dancing (or viewing); and themed treats at each stop. Historic and vintage dress is encouraged, but not required.

Backyards & Barns will include a silent auction and raffle to raise funds for the museum’s ongoing work within its communities.

The event is presented by H.M. Payson and co-sponsored by Tracey Bricker, State Farm Agent, with additional support from Kennebunk Savings.

Tickets should be purchased in advance and are on sale at www.brickstoremuseum.org/calendar or in person at the Brick Store Museum, 117 Main St., Kennebunk.
