Christopher James Joseph Irvine
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Christopher Irvine, 60, of Chattanooga, Tenn. passed away unexpectedly on June 16, 2024.
He was born in Springfield, Pa. on Oct. 27, 1963, to Athill and Alice Irvine, the second to youngest of 10 children. He was a varsity athlete at Yarmouth High School before studying Economics at the University of Maine where he also pursued a graduate degree in Aquaculture, studying blue lobsters. Shortly after, Chris began his career in sales and service to paper manufacturers through Nalco Chemical Company. After relocating to multiple companies and states during his career, he retired in 2021 in Chattanooga, Tenn. In his retirement, he enjoyed playing guitar and recording music with his friends, riding his golf cart through his neighborhood accompanied by his dogs, spending time at the pool, volunteering at McKamey Animal Center, and attending local concerts in downtown Chattanooga.
Chris married Linda Vickery in 1990, and together they raised two daughters before going their separate ways in 2006. Chris enjoyed playing with his daughters, coached their youth soccer teams, and helped cultivate their love for the outdoors through camping, swimming, and hiking.
In 2007, Chris met Elizabeth Harris, and after six years of dating they married in 2013. Together they shared many happy memories, and adopted four dogs who meant the world to him.
Chris will always be remembered for his love of dogs and music, his mischievous sense of humor, and his generosity to others.
Chris is preceded in death by his father Athill, mother Alice, and brothers Seldon and Timothy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth; daughters Goldie and Clara; siblings Cynthia, Thomas, Susan, William, Bonita, and Gordon; and many nieces and nephews.
His family has requested that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy make a donation to;
