UNION — Police were at the scene Saturday of a death at a residence on Route 17 in Union.
The call came in earlier that morning to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office contacted the Maine State Police.
By shortly after 10 a.m., there were seven police vehicles at the scene – 8 Heald Highway, near the town line with Hope. The Maine State Police evidence recovery team mobile lab arrived shortly before noon.
Maine Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said police are investigating a death. She said there is no danger to the public.
Moss said no additional information would be released until an autopsy is performed at the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office.
The property is owned by Frank Dodge, according to town assessment records.
