A 38-year-old Casco man died Saturday afternoon after he crashed his car into trees, officials said.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Stitham failed to successfully negotiate a curve in the road shortly after 4 p.m.
He narrowly missed a collision with another vehicle before leaving the road and ending up in the woods off Poland Spring Road.
Stitham was wearing his seat belt but died at the scene, police said.
Police said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
