I’m surprised that I have seen no coverage in your publication of a recent scheme affecting the pockets of thousands of Mainers, as well as residents of lesser states. Haven’t you noticed that, on supermarket shelves, eight-can seltzer packs have been replacing the traditional 12-can items, with no reduction in price?
First they stealthily reduced half-gallon containers of ice cream. Then they spread deception with a two-ounce reduction in one-quart mayonnaise jars. And do you remember what was most heinous of all … the sheet quantity reduction and narrowing of toilet tissue rolls, while Americans were getting wider?
Our citizens deserve more in-depth coverage from your investigative reporters.
