R. Geoff Tibbals

RAYMOND – R. Geoff Tibbals, 65, passed away on June 2, 2024 at his residence. He was in his favorite spot, with Lucie, overlooking Raymond Pond from the deck of the log cabin they built. It was sudden, unexpected, and has left an immense crater in the hearts of all who loved him.

He was born, Feb. 19, 1959 and grew up in Portland. He was always a hard worker. He was a machinist at Nichols and later worked at Oakhurst for almost 17 years where he worked in sales and marketing before (and after) seven years of co-owning Tory Hill Restaurant. He loved a good coffee and worked for Excellent Coffee briefly before beginning a 16-year career at Heartland.

He made friends wherever he went, and enjoyed nothing more than entertaining a house full of family and friends. He never let anyone leave without a full belly and a full heart.

Geoff is survived by his mother, Dorothy Tibbals; wife, Lucie Tibbals; sons Geoff (Jen), Bill and Peter Tibbals; grandchildren, Reagan, Madison, Quincy, Charlie and Millie; stepdaughter, Brandie (Chad and Madison) Strout; stepson, Aeron (Kara) Hurley. He is also survived by many other close friends and extended family.

Please join the family for a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 14 at Jones, Rich and Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Please visit http://www.jonesrichandbarnes.com to sign Geoff’s online guest book.
