Christine Rita (Thibodeau) Barnes

BUXTON – Christine Rita (Thibodeau) Barnes, 87, formerly of Buxton, passed away on June 6, 2024. She was born on Aug. 11, 1936, in Van Buren.

Christine, also known as “Chris”, cherished spending time on her motorcycle with her beloved husband, Bob. They shared a passion for traveling around the state to enjoy music of Bob’s band, the Malibu’s performances. She worked at several secular job, but her favorite job was taking care of her family.

She is survived by her sister, Gloria Ahern of South Portland, brother, Gary Paul Thibodeau and wife Cindy of South Portland, sister-in-law, Pat Thibodeau of Arizona; son, Rick “Ricky” Barnes and his wife Becky of Naples, daughter-in-law, Lucy Barnes of Fort Smith, Alaska; granddaughters Marlane Spain and her husband Mark of Las Vegas, Nev.; and April Wiley and her husband Kyle and their three children, Blake, Jasmine and Braxton of Newington, Conn.; grandsons Eric Barnes of Fort Smith, Alaska, and Kevin Barnes of Fayetteville, Alaska; several nieces and nephews; and her cherished grand dog, Abby.

Chris was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bob Barnes; her parents, Eldred and Rita Thibodeau; her brother, Eugene Thibodeau; her son, Robert Barnes; brother-in-law, Joseph Ahern Sr.; and a nephew, Michael Ahern.

Chris’ family would like to thank Deb and all the staff at Bella Point and Andwell Hospice.

In honoring Chris’ wishes, there will be no services. Both Christine and her husband Bob will be interred together at Highland Cemetery in Buxton.
