Sen. Susan Collins reportedly “decries” the verdict in the Trump fraud case as politically motivated.
I agree the district attorney wanted to prosecute, but he wasn’t on the jury. The jury was 12 citizens of New York, chosen by both the defense and the prosecution. They are the ones who listened to six weeks of testimony and then decided to convict the former president of falsifying business records.
Would our senator decry this verdict if it were determined by a jury of Maine citizens looking at these same facts?
