BIDDEFORD — A small fire at Canvuo Recreational Cannabis in Biddeford was put out quickly Sunday morning but caused the business to close, fire officials said.

Smoke from the fire was discovered by an employee opening the store on Wellspring Road around 8 a.m., said Capt. Steven Kiesman of the Biddeford Fire Department.

The fire was in the store’s work area and caused smoke and fire, Kiesman said. The cause is under investigation.

It was unclear when the store might reopen. No one was in building when the fire broke out, and no one was hurt, Kiesman said.

Because it was a structure fire, several fire departments from nearby areas – including Saco, Biddeford, Arundel and Kennebunk – arrived to help.
