
One person has died after a head-on crash Friday morning in Saco.
Saco police said the driver of a black Nissan Versa was heading west on Buxton Road (Route 112) just after 9 a.m. when it crossed the center line and went directly into the path of a Western Express 18-wheeler.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead on the scene. Saco police say they are not releasing the name of the driver pending family notification.
Saco police are reconstructing the crash and state police have been called in to help with the investigation.
The section of Buxton Road between Grant Road and Rocky Hill Road remained closed Friday afternoon. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
