Brian Noyes Pulling
KINGFIELD – Brian Noyes Pulling, 75, of Kingfield, Maine, passed away at the Maine Medical Center on Oct. 15, 2023, from complications of surgery. He was born Feb. 13, 1948 in Rutland, Vt., the son of Harold Mosher Pulling, Sr. and Gladys Noyes Pulling. In his youth, Brian was active in 4-H and in youth programs at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ in Rutland.
Brian graduated from Rutland High School in 1966 and graduated with a B.A. from the University of Vermont in 1971. He received his Master of Art Liberal Studies from Dartmouth College in 1975 and his Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School in 1980.
A State of Maine case manager for many years, he worked with persons with developmental disabilities. He also volunteered with Quaker, Shaker, and Mennonite organizations, was an associate pastor, and was a tireless and strong advocate for peace and justice both in our country and abroad, even lobbying members of Congress. He bravely remained steadfast for all he stood for.
Brian loved the outdoors and was an avid walker – on the beaches of South Carolina and the back roads of Maine and Vermont.
Survivors include five siblings, Hal Pulling (Rose), Rick Pulling (Becky), Barbara Noyes Pulling (Jeannine), Pamela Jurkiewicz (Gary), and Randy Pulling (Liz); five nieces, seven nephews; six great nieces and six great nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Jeffrey D. Pulling.
A memorial service will be held in Rutland at a later date.
Brian’s caring, compassionate, and courageous soul will be deeply missed!
