SACO — Rita T. Boisse, 95, of Saco, passed away early Tuesday evening on Oct. 10, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough following a brief illness.
She was born in Biddeford on May 13, 1928, the daughter of Edmond and Annetta (Janelle) Letendre. She attended the Biddeford school system.
Rita married her husband Paul on Oct. 26, 1946. Shortly thereafter, they bought land in Old Orchard Beach to develop and grow a tourist court business known as Paul’s Cabins. They started with four cabins built by Paul and over the years they grew their enterprise to over 30 rental units. Theirs was a 32-year success story.
She was predeceased her husband Paul E. Boisse on Feb. 5, 2019, after 73 years of marriage.
Rita enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband Paul for 52 years. They loved to go ball room dancing and entered many competitions throughout Broward County.
She is survived by her son Norman R. Boisse Ph.D., one brother Richard Letendre and his wife Priscilla, sister-in-law Claudette Letendre as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
