Robert Thomas Ferrante

SOUTH PORTLAND – Robert Thomas Ferrante, 82, of Main Street passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Maine Medical Center following a brief illness.

Robert was born in Portland on Nov. 20, 1940, the son of the late Wilfred and Margaret (Divine) Ferrante. He attended local schools and graduated from Portland High School and then earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine. He served in the Coast Guard Reserves for 37 years.

Robert owned and operated Robert’s Landscape and Gardening, a business he ran for more than 30 years. Over the years, Robert had many interests in which he pursued and after his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Robert is survived by his wife, Mary B. “Maura” (Sheedy) Ferrante; two sons, Sean and Matthew Ferrante; two brothers, Kenneth Ferrante and Gary Head and a sister, Wendy Baldwin and her husband, Ted.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at Old Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland.
