PORTLAND – A trio of Kennebunk competitors made a splash at Sunday’s Maine Marathon and Half Marathon in Portland.

Carlton Robie, 25, a Kennebunk native and Dover, New Hampshire, resident, finished 20th overall in the marathon with a time of 2 hours, 56 minutes, 47 seconds. It was Robie’s first marathon attempt and his time met the qualifying standard for his age group at the Boston Marathon.
In the half marathon, Kennebunk residents Steven Fritzsche, 33, and Scott Lightbody, 24, placed in the top 16 overall.
Fritzsche clocked a 1:12:31, good for sixth place. Lightbody placed 16th with a 1:18:37 showing.
More than 4,000 runners from around the world participated in three events, the marathon, half marathon and marathon relay.
