SOUTH PORTLAND – Theresa Pauline “Polly” Haskell formerly of Standish, passed away on Thursday Sept. 21, 2023 at Pinnacle Health in South Portland after a brief stay.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1929 in Westbrook, the daughter of Alexander and Margaret Milan Landry. She grew up in Westbrook and attended St Hyacinth School with her five siblings, Lawrence, Frances, Sue, Marcella and Bernadette. They predeceased her.

Polly had a big personality which made her an excellent waitress. Wherever she lived or worked, she made friends. She was always proud when people recognized her from either The Splendid, Valle’s Steak House, Italian Heritage Center or Anjon’s.

Polly loved her family and was always interested in hearing what was going on in their lives. She especially cherished receiving handwritten cards from her great-grandchildren in New Hampshire.

Her favorite years were spent traveling to Port St. Lucie, Fla. for the winter with her husband, Dan Haskell, Sr. in their big Pontiac Bonneville convertible!

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Betty Holmes of Haines City, Fla. as well as their extended family, stepson, Dan Haskell, Jr. and his wife Donna of Standish and daughter-in-law Adele Haskell of Scarborough and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband; and stepson, Dick Haskell.

A funeral mass will be held at St Hyacinth Church, 268 Brown St., Westbrook on Monday, Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Meeting House Hill Cemetery in Hollis.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dennett, Craig & Pate, 13 Portland Rd., Buxton.
