

Hires, promotions, appointments
Lynne Roche was appointed to the Avesta Housing Board of Directors for a three-year term effective Oct. 1. She joined Avesta as a community representative on the advancement committee in 2019 and was named co-chairperson in 2022. She has been a development officer at Harvard University, vice president for Ketchum Inc. and founded her own fundraising firm.
Ponee Roberts of Gorham was elected to the board of directors at Norway Savings Bank. She is the owner of consulting firm Ponee A. Roberts CPA and had previously served for over 15 years as controller for Chalmers Insurance Group.


The Piper Shores life care retirement community in Scarborough hired Marc Gregoire of Westbrook as director of plant operations, maintenance and security. He has over 35 years of experience in healthcare leadership, previously working at Northern Light Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center in Portland. Peter Sullivan of Biddeford has been hired in the new position of chief nursing officer. He has been a director of nursing at Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center, department director at Mount Desert Island Hospital and executive director at Birch Bay Retirement Village, all in Bar Harbor.



Northern Light Mercy Gastroenterology hired three new specialists: Aloysius Rho, a gastroenterologist, has been a clinical instructor of medicine at Rutgers University Hospital and a physician at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in New Jersey. Andrew Hsu is a gastroenterologist who has been fellowship trained in advanced endoscopy at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and in gastroenterology at Stroger Hospital in Illinois. Sarah Southard is a nurse practitioner with over 13 years in colorectal, vascular and thoracic surgery at Maine Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Massachusetts.


Alexia Fornaro joined Malone Commercial Brokers as an operations assistant. She has a background in financial administration.
Andrew Goodwin has been hired by Norway Savings Bank as senior vice president and chief information officer with over 25 years of experience in IT and executive leadership positions, including as CIO for the Georgia Hospital Association and Harbin Clinic and as system vice president of technology and information security for Covenant Health in Massachusetts.
Recognition
Margaret Haynes of Freeport, director of elder care services at MaineHealth, and Leo Delicata of Portland, public policy advocate at Legal Services for the Elderly, have received Maine Council on Aging‘s 2023 Lasting Legacy Awards for their sustained leadership in creating positive change for elder Mainers. Hannaford Supermarkets received the Business Excellence Award for valuing older workers and supporting caregivers.
