The Cape Elizabeth Town Council last week unanimously voted to extend the deadline for the Housing Diversity Study Committee’s final report from Sept. 30 to the end of the year.
The committee, created last year to analyze the town’s Housing Diversity Study and make policy recommendations to the council, sought the extension last month. The wanted additional time to gather more responses to a townwide survey.
The survey closed Sept. 15 with responses from “well over 10% of the town,” committee Chairperson Kevin Justh said at the Sept. 11 council meeting.
“It is significantly better participation than the Comprehensive Plan survey, so I think that does indicate there are a fair amount of people who are very, very interested in what’s going on,” Justh told the council.
Justh said the committee will be reviewing the results of the survey in October.
