SACO — A Saco man was taken into custody Sept. 15 regarding shots fired near Thornton Academy that day.
Saco dispatch received several reports of gun fire taking place on Hutchins Street near the Thornton Academy campus on Sept. 15 at 7:31 a.m.. Saco officers, including the school resource officer assigned to Thornton Academy along with officers from the Old Orchard Beach Police Department responded to the area. Police said a neighbor dispute had erupted, ending with several shots being fired.
Saco police took the suspect Eugene D’Alessandro Jr, 62, of Hutchins Street in Saco, into custody without incident, police said. D’Alessandro was charged with Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon, a Class C felony. He was taken to the York County Jail in Alfred, and is to appear in court on Nov. 22.
