Michael Wayne Watts

PORTLAND – Michael Wayne Watts, 62, of Portland passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 10, 2023. He is survived by his wife Beth Kinsman Watts of Portland. His sons Michael Watts and his wife Elizabeth of South Portland, Travis Watts and his wife Kayla of Cumberland, and Jeremy Gregor of Standish. Mike is survived by his grandchildren Colin, Kyran, Callum, and his granddaughter who is due in December. His also survived by his sister Theresa Sargent and her husband Bill of Tarpon Springs. Fla., his brother Ronald Watts and his partner Melissa and grandson Braxton of Casco, his sister-in-law Patti Watts of South Portland, and his uncle Wayne Moddy Sr., as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Allan and Judith Watts of South Portland, his brother Allan E. “Butch” Watts Jr. of South Portland, his aunt Mary Ann Moddy of Saco, and his father-in-law Bill Kinsman of Yarmouth. Mike was a dedicated firefighter for the City of South Portland serving as a call company Lieutenant as well as the Town of Hollis as Deputy Fire Chief. He worked for Airborne Express as operations manager for 13 years and H.P. Hood as a truck driver for over 20 years. Mike loved the Portland Eagles and would often help support their many benefits. He loved to spend his free time hunting, fishing, watching the races and the Red Sox. Mike also loved to spend time at his “home away from home” Wassamki Springs Campground. Mike loved snowmobiling and riding his Harley. Visiting hours will be on Friday, September 15, at Hobbs Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m., with a memorial service on Sunday, September 17, at noon.
