John “Jack” Reardon
LIMINGTON – John “Jack” Reardon, 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 2, 2023.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1941 to Margaret (Foley) and George Reardon. He grew up in Portland and attended Portland schools. In 1963, he married Jo Ann Sanborn. Jack and Jo Ann met at Harmon’s Beach on Sebago Lake where they spent summers with their families. They also raised a family and spent over 40 years living on Harmon’s Beach in Standish.
While living in Standish, Jack worked at the SD Warren Paper Mill for over 20 years. He was also an active member of the community as part of the Standish Volunteer Ambulance crew and the Standish Volunteer Fire Department, where he served several years as Fire Chief. During the ’70s and ’80s, he was also a part-time deputy for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. Later on, he became involved in the Standish-Gorham ATV Club where he served as Vice President for four years.
In 2005, Jack and Jo Ann moved to the woods of Limington where they attended the South Limington Baptist Church and spent lots of time with their grandchildren who lived nearby.
Jack enjoyed ATVing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and taking care of his home. He loved visiting the Moosehead Lake area, especially Seboomook, where he and Jo Ann had a camp for numerous years. After that, they had a seasonal site at Seboomook Wilderness Campground where Jack would often go with his brother, Tom. Later in life, Jack enjoyed reading on his Kindle and watching police and fire shows on television.
Jack was a devoted father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his daughters Dianna Reardon, Cindy Reardon and husband, Jon Felty, his son-in-law, Scott Townsend; his grandchildren, Jesika Leary and husband Kevin, Jake Townsend and wife Kerry, and Kaylee Townsend; his great-grandchildren, Ethan Leary, Katie Leary, Elliott Leary, Delia Leary, Natalie Townsend and Colson Townsend.

There will be no public memorial service for Jack, however, if you would like to honor his memory, you may make donations to Limington Rescue in his name.
