Pauline M. (O’Brien) Spencer
KENNEBUNKPORT – Pauline M. (O’Brien) Spencer, 96, of Kennebunkport, formerly of Melrose, Mass., on Aug. 23, 2023 at Southern Maine Medical Center, Biddeford. She was also a long time winter resident of Sarasota, Fla.
Mrs. Spencer was born in Melrose, Mass., grew up in Malden, Mass. and graduated from Girls Catholic High School in Malden, Mass. As a child, her family spent summer vacations in Kennebunkport, a place she forged a deep and lasting connection to and always considered most special.
In addition to raising her family, she worked many years as a pre-school teacher and managed a retail shop in Kennebunkport before retiring in 1990.
During retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She had a very big heart, a gift of easily connecting with people and made a positive, lasting impact on so many she came in touch with. She was an especially loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, regardless of the season or outcome.
Beloved wife of the late Francis “Frank” E. Spencer, loving father of Suzanne Corrado and her husband Bob of Portland, Scott Spencer of Boston, Mass. and Stephen Spencer and his wife, Kelli of Barrington, Ill.; cherished grandmother of Katy, Christopher, Amanda, Brady and Ryan; great-grandmother of Spencer; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Oct. 21 in Kennebunkport.
