Abbey Laney scored in the second half as Bonny Eagle earned a 1-0 victory over Kennebunk in a Class A South girls’ soccer match Wednesday in Kennebunk.

Brynn Tilburg made 12 saves for Bonny Eagle (2-0). Ellie Nunan of Kennebunk (0-2) stopped 21 saves.

GORHAM 4, DEERING 0: Bailey Hatch scored a pair of second-half goals as Gorham (2-0) wore down Deering’s defense to earn a victory over the host Rams (0-2) in Portland.

Julia Reed notched a goal and an assist. Ashley Connolly also scored as Gorham took control after a scoreless first half.

Sophie Hill made 11 saves for Deering.

MARSHWOOD 6, PORTLAND 1: Maddy Poitras scored twice, and Lilli Hammond, Lucy Parker, Riley Smith and Lilly Gennaro all had one goal as the Hawks (1-1) beat the Bulldogs (0-2) in South Berwick.

Tia Anderson contributed two assists.

FIELD HOCKEY

LAKE REGION 4, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Kasey Johnson and Ashley Pelletier got the Lakers (2-0) on the board early, and starting Lake Region on its way to a win over the Raiders (0-2) in Fryeburg.

Emma Nadeau and Mallory Smith also scored. Reiyn Hart made four saves for the shutout.

Fryeburg’s Rayna Wales stopped four shots.

EDWARD LITTLE 3, CAMDEN HILLS 0: Leah Thibodeau scored three goals to pace the Red Eddies (1-1) to victory in their first game on their new field in Auburn.

Thibodeau’s goals came in the first, third and fourth quarters. Mackenzie Joler and Micah Joler had assists, and Kasey Smith made three saves.

Abby Strout stopped eight shots for the Windjammers.

BOYS’ SOCCER

YARMOUTH 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Zacarias Binda netted a hat trick to help the Clippers (1-1) beat the Patriots (0-2) in Yarmouth.

Nate Buchanan, Mateo Coury and Matt Gautreau added a goal apiece. An own goal in the closing minutes completed the scoring

Tristan Cutler made nine saves for Gray-New Gloucester.

VOLLEYBALL

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3, LEWISTON 0: The Patriots (1-1) defeated the Blue Devils (1-1) in three sets, 25-14, 25-12, 25-8, in Lewiston.

Mackenzie Gervais had 18 aces and Errow Hinckley finished with eight kills for Gray-New Gloucester.

Junior newcomer Holland Clyburn was 9 of 9 serving with one ace for Lewiston. Kaitlyn Shannon tallied three kills.

GORHAM 3, DEERING 0: Shea Fenton had 15 assists and five aces for Deering (1-1) in a loss at home against Gorham (1-1), 25-16, 25-22, 25-19.

Lara Gin added six kills and five blocks, while Maya Gale had five kills.

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, FALMOUTH 1: Erin Andrews totaled nine kills and Rhyse Sholl had 12 assists, but the Navigators (1-1) lost to the Capers (2-0) in four sets at Falmouth, 14-25, 25-22, 25-20, 25-19.

Hannah Roche led Falmouth with nine digs.
