Yolande Annette Laflamme Langevin was born in Biddeford on November 3, 1933 to Albert and Marie Ange (Binette) Laflamme. She passed away on August 12, 2023 at the home of her daughter Elaine Levasseur in Biddeford with her family at her side.
She graduated from St. Joseph’s/St. Andre’s School and like other family members before she went to work full time to help with the family finances. She later obtained her GED from Biddeford High School when she was in her 60’s. She worked for several companies including the Sabourin Bakery, Kesslen Shoe Company, Pepperell Mfg., Components, The Hitching Post Restaurant, St. Francis College, Donovan’s Vending, finally retiring as the receptionist/intake person at White Star Laundry when she was well into her 70’s. She was a member of, and attended, St. Joseph’s Church and Most Holy Trinity Church.
She met and married the love of her life, Paul Langevin, in 1955 and they were blessed with five children in seven years. She was a loving mother who supported and encouraged her children. She loved to be among family and most often hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas for most of her adult years. She also loved to dance and did so right into her 80s. She also enjoyed fashion and was always dressed to the nines. She enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. She was a wonderful caregiver to her Mom who she cared for until her Mom passed in her 90s. She later retired from White Star Laundry specifically to take in her older sister Desneige and took care of her until her health declined and she needed professional care.
Yolande was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul in 2001, her brothers Gerard Laflamme, Herve Laflamme, Raymond Laflamme, Gus Laflamme her sisters, Bella Laflamme, Desneige Grenier, Laurette Pothier, Pauline Lariviere, Priscille Rousselle as well as her grandson Michael Langevin, step- granddaughter, Kimberly Barnicle, and step-granddaughter Nedra Levasseur. She is survived by her brother Fernand Laflamme, her sister Rachel Tourigny, her brother–in-law Roland Rouselle and sister-in-law Jeannine Laflamme. Also surviving are all of her children, Suzanne and Roger (Johnson), Richard and Denise Langevin, Elaine and Mark (Levasseur), William and Cathy Langevin and Kenneth and Sheryl Langevin, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Yolande will be interred alongside her husband Paul at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Burial arrangements will be private.
