A Casco man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting and threatening people at a house on Rosewood Road, and then attempting to run from police Saturday morning.

A 911 caller reported around 8 a.m. that a man was destroying property and assaulting people inside the Casco home. Two people were able to flee before deputies from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office arrived, but an injured woman remained inside, according to Sgt. Joseph Dyar.

Deputies were told the man, later identified as 33-year-old Adam Pierce, might be armed with a firearm and knife, and they requested assistance from the Windham and Bridgton police departments. When a deputy arrived at the scene, Pierce was in the road, screaming and causing a disturbance, Dyar said.

As the deputy tried to deescalate the situation, Pierce allegedly disregarded commands and attempted to flee. The deputy then used his Taser and Pierce was taken into custody, according to Dyar.

Deputies say Pierce was intoxicated and assaulted his live-in girlfriend and threatened the other occupants at the home. Pierce and three victims were evaluated for minor injuries at the scene by Naples, Casco and Raymond EMS.

Pierce was charged with domestic violence assault, criminal threatening and refusing to submit to arrest. He was booked at Cumberland County Jail and bail was set at $1,000 cash.
